Product Name |
ESD Red Stretch Film / Anti-Static Hand Stretch Wrap |
A low-density polyethylene (PE) stretch film embedded with permanent anti-static agents, designed for safe packaging of static-sensitive goods. |
|
Material |
LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) with Permanent Anti-Static Masterbatch |
Provides excellent stretchability, puncture resistance, and lasting ESD protection. The color is uniformly mixed, not a surface coating. |
|
Color & Transparency |
Semi-Transparent Red |
High-visibility red color is an industry-standard indicator for ESD-safe materials, facilitating quick identification and preventing mix-ups. |
|
Surface Resistivity |
10e9 ~ 10e11 Ω/sq |
Permanently dissipative. Safely prevents static charge accumulation and bleeds away charges without creating a conductive hazard. |
|
Core Physical Properties |
Thickness: 15µm (0.6 mil) to 30µm (1.2 mil) |
Available in hand wrap and machine wrap grades. Custom widths and lengths for automated packaging lines. |
|
Performance Data |
Tensile Strength (MD): ≥ 15 MPa |
Ensures the film can withstand the rigors of pallet wrapping, providing load stability and protecting goods from dust, moisture, and ESD damage. |
|
Electrostatic Decay |
< 2.0 seconds (From 5000V to 0V, per ANSI/ESD STM11.11) |
Meets industry standards for rapid static dissipation, protecting enclosed items from electrostatic fields. |
|
Primary Applications |
Wrapping pallets, carts, and containers of: Electronic Components, PCBs, Automotive Electronics, Aerospace Parts, Sensitive Instruments. Also used as a workstation cover. |
Ideal for manufacturing, warehousing, and in-plant transport where both physical protection and ESD control are critical. |
|
Key Advantages |
Permanent ESD Protection, High Stretch & Puncture Resistance, Excellent Load Retention, Easy Manual/Mechanical Application, Reduces Static Hazards in Transit. |
Provides a cost-effective, first-line defense against physical damage and electrostatic discharge throughout the supply chain. |

A. Preparation & Handling:
Store rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Handle and apply the film in an ESD-Protected Area (EPA) when possible for maximum protection of sensitive contents.
Ensure the item or pallet to be wrapped is stable and free of sharp protrusions that could tear the film.
B. Application (Hand Wrap Method):
Start: Anchor the film end securely to the load or pallet base.
Wrap: Hold the roll and walk around the load, applying consistent tension. Overlap each layer by 30-50% for uniform coverage and strength.
Technique: Utilize the film's inherent stretch (pre-stretch) by pulling firmly as you walk. This improves film efficiency and load stability.
Coverage: Ensure complete coverage from bottom to top. Pay special attention to the top of the load, applying extra layers if needed for weather or dust protection.
Finish: Tear the film by hand or use the roll's built-in serrated edge, and press the end firmly against the wrapped load. The film's cling properties will help secure it.
C. For Automated Wrapping:
Use machine-grade rolls compatible with your stretch wrapper.
Consult your machine manual for optimal pre-stretch settings (typically 150%-250%). The ESD properties will not be affected by stretching.
Ensure the film web path is clear and the brake tension is adjusted to prevent breaks and ensure consistent wrapping force.
D. Important Notes & Best Practices:
ESD Protection: The red color is a visual marker. The film provides all-around static dissipation for the wrapped load, creating a protective barrier against external static fields.
Permanent Property: The anti-static additive is permanent and will not wash off or degrade under normal environmental conditions.
Inspection: Regularly inspect wrapped loads for film tears or excessive slack, and rewrap if necessary.
Disposal: Dispose of used film according to local plastic (LDPE/LLDPE) recycling regulations where available.
Final Tip: For wrapping highly sensitive electronic assemblies, consider first placing them in a pink anti-static bag before palletizing and wrapping with the ESD Red Stretch Film for layered protection.
