Wireless ESD Mouse User Manual & ESD Safety Guide
1. Introduction
This Wireless ESD Mouse is specifically designed for use in Electrostatic Discharge Protected Areas (EPAs). Its static dissipative materials (10-10 Ω) help safely control static charges from the user's hand, protecting sensitive electronic components during assembly, testing, or repair. The wireless design offers flexibility without compromising ESD safety when used correctly.
2. Critical ESD Safety Warning
IMPORTANT: This mouse is a static dissipative component, NOT a primary ground path.
Personal Grounding is Mandatory: The operator MUST wear a properly functioning and grounded wrist strap connected to the EPA's common ground point.
Worksurface Requirement: The mouse must be used on a grounded ESD worksurface (mat). Using it on regular desks or non-ESD mats voids its protective function.
The protection chain is: Grounded User (wrist strap) → ESD Mouse (dissipative) → Grounded ESD Mat → Earth. All links are essential.
3. Package Contents
1 x Wireless ESD Mouse
1 x USB Nano Receiver (2.4GHz mode, stored inside battery compartment)
1 x AA Battery (may not be pre-installed for long-term storage)
1 x Anti-Static Shielding Bag (for storage/transport)
4. Setup & Installation
A. For 2.4GHz Wireless Mode (Recommended for reliability):
Insert the AA battery into the compartment, observing correct polarity.
Turn the power switch (on the bottom) to ON.
Remove the USB nano receiver from its storage slot and plug it into your computer's USB port.
The system will automatically install drivers. The mouse is ready to use when the cursor responds.
B. For Bluetooth Mode:
Ensure the mouse is powered ON.
On your computer, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
Select "ESD Mouse" from the list. If prompted for a PIN, enter "0000".
Once paired, the connection is secure.
5. Operation
Use the mouse normally on your grounded ESD mat.
The scroll wheel allows vertical scrolling and can be pressed for a middle-click function.
For optimal ESD performance and sensor tracking, use only on a grounded, non-glossy ESD mat.
6. Care, Cleaning & Storage
Cleaning: Power OFF the mouse. Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth slightly dampened with an ESD-safe cleaner or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Battery: For long-term storage (>1 month), remove the battery to prevent leakage and damage.
Storage: Always store the mouse inside the provided Anti-Static Shielding Bag when not in use, especially outside an EPA.
