Wireless Anti-Static Keyboard User Manual & ESD Safety Guide
1. Product Introduction
This Wireless Anti-Static Keyboard is engineered for professional use in Electrostatic Discharge Protected Areas (EPAs). Its static dissipative materials (10-10 Ω) help control electrostatic charges generated by the user, protecting sensitive electronic components during assembly, testing, or handling. The wireless design offers flexibility while maintaining ESD safety.
2. Critical ESD Safety Warning
This is a static dissipative device, NOT a ground path by itself. It must be used as part of a fully grounded EPA workstation.
User Grounding is Mandatory: The operator MUST wear a properly functioning grounded wrist strap connected to the same common point ground as the workstation.
Surface Contact: For the keyboard to function as intended, it should be placed on a grounded ESD worksurface (mat). The charge from your fingers is dissipated through the keyboard to the mat, then safely to ground.
Wireless Caution: The wireless feature provides operational freedom but does not negate the need for personal grounding. Always wear your wrist strap.
3. Initial Setup & Power
Charging: Before first use, connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's port and to a computer or USB charger. Charge fully (~3 hours). The LED indicator may show charging status (refer to specific model guide).
Power On/Off: Locate the power switch (typically on the side or back) and turn it to the ON position.
4. Wireless Pairing (Bluetooth Mode)
Ensure the keyboard is ON and in pairing mode (LED may blink rapidly). Check the indicator light pattern.
On your computer/device, enable Bluetooth from the system settings.
Search for new devices. Select the keyboard name (e.g., "ESD_Wireless_KB") from the list.
If prompted, enter the pairing code (e.g., "0000") and press Enter. The connection is now established.
5. Wired Mode (USB-C)
Simply connect the USB-C cable from the keyboard to your computer's USB port. This will provide both power (charging) and a reliable data connection, overriding the Bluetooth connection.
6. Operation & Best Practices
Operate the keyboard with your grounded wrist strap on.
Use normal keystroke pressure. The membrane switches are designed for quiet, reliable operation.
The extensive F1-F12 (and potential F13-F24) keys are standard. For OEM customers, these can be pre-programmed for specific macros or functions in your factory system.
7. Cleaning & Maintenance
Daily: Disconnect (wireless) or unplug (wired) the keyboard. Wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with a mild ESD-safe cleaner. Never use solvents, alcohol, or ammonia-based cleaners.
Weekly/Deep Clean: Use compressed air to blow out debris from between keys. Wipe down with an ESD-safe wipe.
Battery Care: For long-term storage (>1 month), charge the battery to ~50% and turn the power OFF.
8. Troubleshooting
