Step 1: Preparation

1. Clean the work surface and ensure it's free from dust and debris

2. Prepare the finished reel (with remaining cover tape) and the new reel

3. Have scissors or cutting tool ready for trimming

Step 2: Measuring & Cutting

1. Measure and cut the required length of Cover Tape Extender

2. Typical length: 100-150mm (4-6 inches) depending on your process requirements

3. Ensure straight, clean cuts for optimal adhesion

Step 3: Application to Cover Tape

1. For the finished reel:

   • Peel back approximately 50mm of the cover tape from the finished reel

   • Remove the release liner from one end of the Cover Tape Extender

   • Apply the adhesive side to the exposed cover tape, ensuring 25-30mm overlap

   • Press firmly to ensure good adhesion

2. For the new reel:

   • Peel back approximately 50mm of the cover tape from the new reel

   • Remove the remaining release liner from the Cover Tape Extender

   • Apply the other end to the new reel's cover tape with 25-30mm overlap

   • Press firmly to complete the connection

Step 4: Final Installation

1. Trim any excess extender tape if necessary

2. Ensure the connection is smooth and flat

3. Load the connected reels into the feeder

4. Feed through the machine to test the connection
