SMT Cover Tape Extender is a kind of subsidiary material specially designed for adjusting SMT machines; changing components supplies and material continuation.

SMT Cover Tape Extender consists of one piece tape and one piece extender; it's usually used in trial production stage.

Material: PET base material, with rubber glue.
Thickness: PET 0.025mm, total thickness: 0.053mm

High efficiency jointing is accomplished without cutting off the machine.

Instruction:

When a surface mount component tape is used on an automatic pick and place machine, the cover tape has to be pulled back 200 to 300mm to feed it into the winding arrangement of a tape feeder, this can cause components in the pockets yet uncovered to be wasted. 
And this problem can aver by using SMD Cover Tape Extenders.

Cover Tape Extender mainly plays a traction role in the SMT mounting process; it reduces material losses and increases total production benefit by using it.

Features:
 

1. Removing the cover paper reveals the adhesive side of the yellow tape, whose mark is aligned with the front edge of the component tape and stuck onto the cover tape.

 

1. The non-adhesive, transparent end of the strip can now be fed into the tape feeder.

 
3. There is no need to waste components when inserting a leaderless component tape into the feeder.
 
4. The bond between the tape extender and the original cover tape is sufficient to ensure that they will not separate, even after prolonged time under tension.
